Prince Harry's new plan to snub Queen Camilla won't have the desired effect
If they do not visit sooner, the next time that Harry and Meghan visit the UK will be when they launch the Invictus Games in Birmingham in July 2027.
The timing of this visit has caused some annoyance for King Charles III, who generally likes to stay quiet on the topic of Harry and Meghan.
A source has told the Daily Mail that Charles thinks the Invictus Games launch will overshadow the birthday celebrations that he has planned for Queen Camilla's 80th.
A big party for Camilla
Daily Mail Columnist Ephraim Hardcastle wrote that Charles had organized a service at St George's Chapel for his wife and a special party to ensure that his wife's birthday was properly marked.
The journalist wrote: "Prince Harry further irks his father with the timing of his next Invictus Games in Birmingham in July 2027. It coincides with Charles's lavish celebrations for Queen Camilla's 80th birthday.
The King plans to pull out all the stops for his Queen, with events centering on a thanksgiving service at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
The arrival of Harry's bandwagon at the same time will be an unwelcome distraction."
Hinting at the poor relationship between Camilla and Harry, the journalist added that Harry is 'unlikely to lose sleep, given his fractious relationship with his stepmother.'
The expectation is that Harry and Meghan will not be invited to Camilla's birthday party, after Harry called her the 'evil other woman' in his book, 'Spare'. He refused to apologize for that remark, which is one of the major causes of the rift in the family.
